NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Sprint and Cisco Systems Wednesday said they will combine their resources and jointly offer Internet access packages to businesses.
Dubbed "enterprise Internet access solutions," the companies will provide businesses with Internet connectivity, using Sprint's (FON) SONET ring network for data transmission combined with Cisco's (CSCO) networking capabilities.
The solutions will be available in three versions, aimed at low, medium and high bandwidth needs of companies. All three versions will be priced at a flat-rate fee regardless of usage; service features include installation, network and hardware maintenance and customer support.
"The digital economy has forced companies to become e-businesses and expand their reach to customers," said Tammy Cancela, vice president of Sprint's business marketing. "Reliable, efficient and secure Internet access is an essential part of any e-business strategy."
Sprint shares rose 1-5/16 to 75 in Tuesday trading. Cisco gained 1-11/16 to 84-1/2. Back to top
